Supporting men's mental health charities across the UK

Code of Conduct

Welcome to BuildLifeHouse, a space where men can strengthen their minds, build their own mental resilience, and support one another. To ensure this platform remains a positive, empowering, and respectful environment for everyone, we ask all users to follow this Code of Conduct.

1. Respect

We are all here to grow, share, and connect. Treat every individual with dignity and respect, even when opinions or experiences differ.

  • Listen first, speak thoughtfully: Engage in conversations with empathy and understanding. Avoid interrupting or dismissing others.

  • No harmful language or behavior: Disrespect, hate speech, bullying, or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.

  • Maintain privacy: Share only your own stories and respect the confidentiality of others. This is a safe space—do not violate it.

Respect is the foundation of every healthy relationship, including the one you build with yourself, others, and this community.

2. Community (Collective responsibility)

We are stronger together. The success of BuildLifeHouse depends on every member committing to fostering a positive and supportive environment.

  • Encourage others: Celebrate achievements, share helpful insights, and offer support to those who may need it. You never know whose life you might impact.

  • Lead by example: Uphold the values of this space through your words and actions.

  • Address issues responsibly: If you notice behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, report it respectfully. Report a breach of this Code of Conduct here >>>

This community is what we make of it—let's build it strong, one respectful interaction at a time.

3. Honesty & Authenticity

Growth starts with being real—both with yourself and others.

  • Share your truth: Be genuine in your contributions. Whether you’re seeking support, offering advice, or sharing stories, honesty helps build trust.

  • Avoid misleading or false information: Do not post content that is inaccurate, exaggerated, or intentionally deceptive.

  • No false identities or misrepresentation: This is a community built on trust—be yourself, not a persona.

Authenticity fosters meaningful connections and makes the house we’re building stronger.

4. Constructive Contributions

Every post, comment, or message shapes the community. Aim to make it better.

  • Be mindful of your tone: Criticism can be constructive if delivered with care and respect. Focus on solutions, not blame.

  • Stay on topic: Keep discussions relevant to mental health, resilience, and personal growth. Avoid spam, unrelated promotions, or disruptive content.

  • Contribute positively: Share insights, encouragement, and experiences that inspire or empower others.

Your contributions are the bricks we use to build this space—make them strong, intentional, and valuable.

5. Self-Care First

While we support each other, remember to take care of yourself, too.

  • Know your limits: Share and engage at your own pace. You’re not obligated to respond to every post or offer help beyond your capacity.

  • Seek professional help when needed: This platform is focused on prevention, not crises support. Although you can utilise our links to find professional help, our service is NOT a substitute for professional mental health services. If you need help, reach out to qualified professionals.

  • Practice kindness to yourself: Growth takes time—be patient with your own journey.

By taking care of yourself, you set the foundation to help others.

Upholding the Code

Failure to adhere to these principles may result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or removal from the platform. BuildLifeHouse reserves the right to determine the appropriate action against the user based on the evidence we have in front of us.  Our goal is not punishment but creating a space where everyone feels welcomed, heard, and supported.

Together, we are building not just mental resilience, but a community—one where every individual matters, and every voice counts.

Thank you for being part of BuildLifeHouse. Let’s build something great.
